How television is breaking new ground in the social conversation

With today’s rapid consumption of bite-sized morsels of social media conversations, television shows are seeking innovative solutions to hold the attention of their target audience, who crave the instant gratification and connectivity they have become accustomed to in their social media universes.

In the flurry to join the conversation, broadcasters initially began incorporating social media through the basic display of tweets, Facebook posts and Instagram pictures, often in a simple keyable graphic or lower-third ticker. But broadcasters soon realized the need to stretch beyond the norm and discover next-generation solutions to keep viewers engaged and committed.

Gardentopia’s shared global community is guided by love, kindness and compassion.

In our hearts, we are united in Unconditional LOVE.  Yet in our minds, we debate our religions, argue our politics, condemn sexual preferences and identities, create racial divides, hate, discriminate and separate.

When we encounter LOVE, we celebrate our diversity with tolerance, and embrace one another’s differences with open minds, acceptance and support. Sometimes we get so caught up in our minds that we lose our way back to our hearts. Gardentopia can show us the way!

Our Mission is to change how people approach Unconditional LOVE around the globe by re-educating our understanding of LOVE. The challenge isn’t learning how to LOVE unconditionally, which is innate at birth, but how to remove the obstacles that keep us from it.  Gardentopia educates and provides the tools to get us there.

Story Synopsis by Janet Arlotta

ANNIE PALMER arrives in Jamaica, as a young bride, having just been sold into matrimony to a much older man. MR. PALMER is a plantation owner with no heir, a dogmatic faith, and a weakness for rum. Annie is an ends to a means for him, no more.

Besides her young childhood in Haiti with her parents, Annie has never known a place other than England. Her curiosity about her new home and its people cannot be denied. However, Mr. Palmer with his predisposition to drink and outbursts of anger will beat it out of her if necessary.

As a woman of the era she has no choice but to endure. Annie soon finds that Rose Hall will be her prison that no ordinary woman could escape.

However, all is not unbearable at the plantation. She forges an unbreakable friendship with LUCY, her young lady’s maid, and finds love from afar with a captivating new arrival to the fields, TOMBO.

Her unfettered curiosity pulls her to the forest at night to spy on the secret Voodoo dances and rituals. The familiarity begins to awaken a dormant skill within her.

During these secret excursions, she meets Tombo face to face, and falls helplessly in love. As their feelings grow, she realizes that her only chance at happiness and freedom is to plot an escape with him despite the obstacles before them.

Mr. Palmer intercedes and tragedy cuts the plot down that sends Tombo to an early grave. Annie’s grief is unbearable and compounded by the knowledge that Palmer’s baby grows within her.

Annie knows that she must learn more about the dark magic in the forest. She seeks an unlikely ally, PRIEST, the feared Voodoo master.

Awakening the power within is her only chance to survive.

The Scent of Burning Cane

Chapter One: Coco Bread

My senses intoxicated by the thick hot air, sweetened by the burning sugar cane, I step out of the plane.  Steel drums faintly escape the interior of the terminal.  Jamaica is foreign to my eyes, yet instantly its warmth washes over me with the comfort and familiarity of a warm bath.  My smile instantly floods my face…  I’m home.

I had spent the last three months planning this journey, holed up in my Los Angeles apartment.  Boyfriend number three departed months earlier leaving dust clouds in his wake.  The dead end job was clearly growing old, and I was desperately in need of an adventure.  The criteria: an island location, where I could survive on a literal dime, and live for an undetermined period of time.
